FloraHolland

Logistic Centre Venus (LCV) was started up in 2006 to handle the distribution of flowers and plants for the exporters at Flora Holland Trade Parc (TPW2) in the most efficient way. LCV aims at playing a central role in the logistics within TPW2 by focussing on customers (exporters’) interests.

Martin Kramer (Logistics Manager) about CC’s RFID field tests:

Martin Kramer - Logistic Centre Venus"Logistic Centre Venus (LCV) is aiming at developing customer driven logistic flow management. In our view, advance notification of orders and forward planning are important. RFID technologies will enable our employees to quickly identify the CC Container and its destination. By using the RFID number in the planning system, the system can direct the CC Container into the correct queue for further distribution. We expect that using RFID will enable us to distribute large quantities of CC Containers according to customer demands (for instance a specific order of delivery).

LCV joined CC’s RFID field tests to gain experience with the future logistic RFID standard. One of our RFID goals is getting involved in the further application of this standard. The fact that CC choose to use Gen2-techniques and the international RFID standard, enables far-reaching integration with the next step in the supply chain outside the auction halls."
