Background

RFID tags – proven efficiency

In order to introduce a flawless RFID identification system, the group behind the project has already tested RFID tags and readers (“scanners”) in Denmark, Holland and Germany. The testing was done first as “lab tests”, and then in closed loops in real horticultural sector working environments.

RFID tags have already been implemented in other CC load carriers, such as the CC Euro Dolly (rolling ¼ pallets) with great success.

Furthermore, RFID was successfully implemented on all CC Containers in North America (active tags) in late February 2010. The results have so far already exceeded the expectations.

Implementation of RFID in the European horticultural industry is done in co-operation with IBM as the main technology partner.
