Be ready for January 10, 2011.
All CC Containers will be RFID tagged!

What you have to do

If you are a Container Centralen customer and have a contract that includes CC Containers, you need to make sure that all your CC Containers are RFID* tagged by January 10, 2011.

How to get your CC Containers RFID tagged

If you have CC Container contracts with Container Centralen, you have already received letters, online news snippets, spoken to our sales team and perhaps visited some of the industry exhibitions and special RFID demo days that we have been hosting. Throughout the rest of 2010 you will continue to receive information about the project, and about what your role will be in the tagging operation. Immediately before the cut-off date January 10, 2011,Container Centralen will send you a specific number of RFID* tags according to the amount of CC Containers you have under contract.

As the tagging operation is progressing we are sending out important news and information via e-mail. If you would like to ensure that you receive this information you will need to register your e-mail address on our dedicated campaign website.

Please note that if you sublet your containers from a supplier different from Container Centralen A/S then you will need to contact them for further information, as you will then not receive instructions directly from Container Centralen A/S. You can of course still register your email address as described above, to make sure you stay updated.

After January 10, 2011, exchanging broken material at CC depots, or handing in containers at depots and many other places will only be possible where a genuine CC RFID tag is mounted on the CC Container base.

Gates and Handheld Readers (“scanners”)

Container Centralen highly recommends that you, as a minimum, acquire a handheld reader (“scanner”). Being able to “read” the RFID tags is your guarantee against receiving copy CC Containers. Accepting a container that does not have a valid tag is at your own risk. Containers with falsified identification tags are not legal and will therefore not be accepted in the CC Pool System: if you try to hand them in at, for instance, a CC depot, they will be refused – even if you do so unknowingly.

It might also be useful for you to make an agreement with your transport company to take care of reading/scanning the RFID tagged containers to make sure that you won’t encounter any problems with receiving “counterfeit containers”.
